Cornwall's Best Beaches
Whitsand Bay. Probably South East Cornwall's best beach with a 3 mile stretch of perfect sand but access to the beach is very steep as it is characterised by sheer, high cliffs, dramatic scenery and long stretches of sandy beaches. 
Fistral Beach. A huge sandy beach which is the number one spot for surfing in the UK. As such it hosts all the major competitions so if boarding is your thing, this one is not to be missed! 
Gwithian Towans is effectively the middle part of Hayle Sands, a huge sandy stretch of beach. Popular with surfers and for families there is plenty of sand and it is probably one of the most visited dune areas in Cornwall. Gwithian Towans also boasts some amazing flora and fauna. 
Harlyn Bay is an excellent beach for all manor of seaside activities. The bay is excellent for surfing, swimming and sunbathing, with some fine walks along the headlands in either direction. It’s great for families and for thrill seeking beach activities. 
Holywell Bay is a National Trust protected area with a huge sandy beach and extensive sand dunes, popular with families and surfers. Nearby the Holywell Bay fun park will provide entertainment for all the family if the sun disappears. 
Lantic Bay. South East Cornwall's best kept secret, a quiet sheltered cove with white sands, feeling more like the Mediterranean, than Cornwall. The beach is dominated by the 400 foot hulk of Pencarrow Head which offers some shelter. Cliff walking and access to the beach can be steep but the view is well worth it.
Newquay. The beaches around Newquay and the Atlantic Coast of Cornwall are simply among the finest in western Europe and, some would argue, the world. There are four beaches together forming a huge expanse of sand at low tide. Ideal for sun worshippers, families and surfers and there are excellent facilities.
