Itinerary ideas - Children

Although in reality most places in Britain are child friendly, we've put together an itinerary idea for a dream 3 week break if you had younger children. This itinerary covers some great things for the adults to do and see as well as the things kids love most.

London BridgeDay 1 - 4 London
London is packed with great things for kids and adults alike. From sightseeing to a ride on the London eye to a visit to the Tower of London and a wander round Madame Tussauds, no matter how much time you spend here, there will always be far more to come back for.
HovercraftDay 5 - 6 Isle of Wight
One of the most exciting things about the Isle of Wight is actually the ride over there, on a hovercraft! The Island itself is great for adults and kids alike with lots of hands on centres and fun days out.
HMS VictoryDay 7 Portsmouth
Portsmouth is Britains Naval capital and as such the historic dockyard in a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. Attractions there include a harbour tour, a look around Nelson's HMS Victory and the HMS Warrior, a viewing of the raised wreck Mary Rose and several interactive hands on museums for kids.
Stone HengeDay 8 Salisbury
So Salisbury itself may not be a young child's first choice but even the youngest members of the family should appreciate the scale and beauty of Salisbury cathedral. This could be followed by a trip to nearby mysterious Stonehenge and you never know, you're little ones might even be the first to figure out how it got to be there!
NewquayDay 9 - 14 Newquay
As well as a plethora of it's own beaches and activities, Newquay is a great place to rent a car and explore the region. There are hundreds of hidden beaches, picturesque fishing towns, small theme parks and activity centres and even a cliff top theatre called the Minnack Theatre (with the world's best backdrop!).
St IvesDay 15 - 17 St Ives
St Ives is right at the tip of Cornwall and is in itself a delightful fishing town. From here you can visit the most southerly tip of Britain - Land's End and take out a boat trip to see local marine life such as seals or even do a spot of mackerel fishing yourself. St Ives is sure to be a hit with all the kids, even the grown up ones!
TorquayDay 18 - 19 Torquay
Torquay is known as the English Riviera and for good reason. It has great scenery, stacks of character and charm and plenty to do for all the family. It's maybe best known for being the setting of John Cleese's 'fawlty towers' but there's certainly nothing faulty about Torquay itself.
WindsorDay 20 - 21 Windsor - London
On the way back to London why not stop off at Windsor, home to the world's largest inhabited castle. It's a great sight for people of all ages and Windsor itself is a charming town. And if you visit on a Friday afternoon keep your eyes peeled for a peek at Mrs Windsor herself coming home for the weekend, Queen Elizabeth II!
